Your Interrail Global Pass or One Country Pass is valid on most long-distance and regional rail services in Poland.

Long Distance & International

PKP Intercity: The main operator (EIP, EIC, IC, TLK trains).
Note: Reservations are often mandatory.
RegioJet & Leo Express: Private operators on specific routes.
Note: Mandatory reservations.

Regional Operators (Included)

You can use your Pass on these regional services:

POLREGIO: Nationwide regional trains.
Koleje Dolnośląskie (KD): Lower Silesia & Culture Train to Berlin.
SKM Trójmiasto: Local trains in Gdańsk, Sopot, Gdynia.
Koleje Wielkopolskie (KW): Poznań area.
Koleje Małopolskie (KMŁ): Kraków area.
Koleje Śląskie (KS): Katowice/Silesia area.
Łódzka Kolej Aglomeracyjna (ŁKA): Łódź area.
Arriva: Specific routes in Kuyavian-Pomeranian region.

❌ Excluded Operators (Not Valid)

You MUST buy a separate ticket for these services – Interrail is NOT accepted:

Koleje Mazowieckie (KM): Local trains in Warsaw & Masovian region.
SKM Warszawa: Warsaw city rapid rail (S1, S2, S3, S10).
WKD: Warsaw Suburban Railway.
KD Specjal: Special tourist trains by Koleje Dolnośląskie.
Nostalgic Trains: ICN and heritage services.

Key Differences for Passholders

One Country Pass (OCP): Valid for international trains (like EuroCity) only when travelling within Polish borders.

Warszawa-Kyiv: For the direct train to Ukraine, the pass is accepted only on the Polish section (Warsaw to the border).

Warsaw Chopin (WAW)

Integrated into the city's transport system (ZTM), but Interrail is NOT valid on trains here.

❌ Pass Not Valid
Trains: Both SKM Warszawa (S2, S3) and Koleje Mazowieckie (RL) serve the airport station.
Integrated Ticketing: On the "Airport Line" (Chopin Airport – Warszawa Płudy), there is mutual honor of tickets. Standard ZTM Warsaw tickets (20-min to long-term) are valid in both SKM and KM trains. Likewise, KM tickets are valid in SKM.

Buses: Lines 175, 188, 148, 331, and N32. Operated by ZTM Warszawa. Use the same city tickets.

Warsaw Modlin (WMI)

❌ Pass Not Valid
Special Offer: Koleje Mazowieckie offers the "Airport Ticket" (Bilet Lotniskowy).
This flat-fee ticket covers the shuttle bus from the terminal to Modlin station and the train to any station in Warsaw. It also includes 75 minutes of travel on Warsaw's city transport (ZTM).

Kraków Balice (KRK)

❌ Pass Not Valid
Carrier: Koleje Małopolskie (Line SKA1). Fast rail link to Kraków Główny. Buy tickets from terminal machines or onboard.

Gdańsk Lech Wałęsa (GDN)

✅ Pass Valid
Carrier: POLREGIO. Trains run on the PKM line to Wrzeszcz and Główny. Interrail Pass is fully accepted on Polregio services.

Katowice Pyrzowice (KTW)

❌ Pass Not Valid
Carrier: Koleje Śląskie (Line S9). Links airport to the regional network. Separate ticket required.

✅ Pass Valid
Carrier: POLREGIO. Direct trains to Szczecin Główny. Pass fully valid.

Carrier: POLREGIO. Terminal station with direct links to Lublin Główny.

✅ Pass Valid
Access: Station Świnoujście Port is right by the ferry terminals (TT-Line, Polferries). Served by POLREGIO and PKP Intercity.

Access: Reach Gdynia Główna with your Pass. Take local bus 150/125 for the Stena Line terminal.

✅ Pass Valid to City
Access: Arrive at Gdańsk Główny. Transfer to city trams/buses for Westerplatte or Polferries terminals.

Kołobrzeg Port

✅ Pass Valid
Access: The railway station is within walking distance of the ferry pier (Bornholm links). Served by PKP IC and Polregio.

How to Book Your Seat in Poland

In Poland, seat reservation rules vary depending on the train category. Most long-distance services are operated by PKP Intercity.

PKP Intercity

⚠️ Mandatory & Paid Supplement

EIP (Express InterCity Premium - Pendolino)

You must have a reservation before boarding. Buying from the conductor is not possible.
Cost: Supplement of approx. 10 EUR (43 PLN).
Warning: Boarding without a seat reservation results in a high penalty (approx. 150 EUR / 650 PLN).

Recommended

EIC (Express InterCity)

High-standard trains where reservations are optional but recommended.
Cost: 3.00 PLN (approx. 0.70 EUR).

Recommended / Mandatory

IC (InterCity)

Modern trains where reservations are recommended.
⚠️ Important: In selected IC trains, reservations are mandatory. Check your connection in the timetable.
Cost: 3.00 PLN (approx. 0.70 EUR).

TLK (Twoje Linie Kolejowe)

Standard day trains where reservations are recommended for your comfort.
Cost: 3.00 PLN (approx. 0.70 EUR).

Standard seats require a reservation (3.00 PLN).
⚠️ Mandatory: Reservations are required for all sleeping cars and couchettes.

International Trains (EuroCity / EuroNight)

Reservations are mandatory for crossing the border.
Seat reservation cost (if bought in Poland):
• Standard International: 3.50 EUR
• Trains to Berlin or Leipzig: 4.00 EUR
Warsaw - Kyiv:
The Interrail Pass is only valid on the Polish section of the route (to/from the border).

Łódzka Kolej Aglomeracyjna (ŁKA)

Regional carrier in central Poland. Usually, no reservation is needed.

ŁKA Sprinter (Warsaw ↔ Łódź)

Seat reservation is optional only on "ŁS" (Sprinter) trains between Warsaw and Łódź.
Where to buy: Available at ticket counters or directly from the conductor onboard.
